Menu Plan Monday

Part of this new me plan includes planning meals. I have recently come upon a bunch of blogs about saving money and many of them participate in Menu Plan Monday. So, I am going to be a joiner and join them, as this covers every step of my new plan (saves money, good for health, organizes house)!!!

Monday: Apple Strudel Pancakes (mix), bacon, grapes
Tuesday: Pizza in Crockpot
Wednesday: Friends over...snacks, apps, some dessert....yum!
Thursday:Leftover Thursday
Friday: Chicken with Scallion Sauce
Saturday: Crazy Crockpot Pork Chops
Sunday: Leftovers

Lunches and Breakfasts are pretty much the same; sandwiches and cereal. I will have to make some muffins and other things for snacks....but for now, not in my menu plan. Maybe someday...

New

It is a new week, (almost) new year, new president (soon) and it is time to create a new me!! This year, I am focusing on change. Changing our finances. Changing my body. Changing my house! These are big goals and I am not sure that I will be able to get everything done that I want to, however, I am trying. And that is what this blog is for; to try. So, let me put them down in plain English:

New Year's Resolutions/Goals for 2009
1. Get our financial house in order
  • Pay off outstanding debts
  • Pay down (and eventually off) consumer debt
  • Save an emergency fund of $1K
  • Save 3 - 6 months of salary
  • Create a monthly budget
  • Do everything I can to stretch the budget
  • Find ways to make money from home
2. Get my healthy self in order
  • Take in less calories
  • Work off calories (either exercise or activities)
  • Lost my age (33) this year
  • Take a daily vitamin
  • Eat 5 servings of fruit/veg a day
  • Incorporate fish into diet 2 times a week
  • One meatless dish a week
3. Get my actual house in order
  • Clear the house of clutter
  • Develop systems to stave off clutter
  • Organize the house!
  • Develop a plan to stay on top of cleaning in the house
No problem, huh??? Yeah right. As I was typing this, I realized that I need to start now! So, as soon as I am done here, I am off to take a vitamin. Never too late, right?
